Sunburn and Singha

Well we are in Krabi, Thailand at the mo, just arrived back here today after spending 1 night on the beautiful Ko Phi Phi. The weather was fantastic today and Danielle, Christey, Jason and myself are all suffering from sunburn!!! Really enjoying it the second time around as we know how much we should be paying for things, and the food is so cheap and really good. We had 2 nights in Singapore on the way and we have 2 nights on the way back. I'm excited to go back to Singapore as the people are really friendly and it's a really good looking city.
Weve been having Thai massages every day and swimming and just basically lazing around. We did a day trip to four of the surrounding islands the other day, we went snorkelling and swimming and had a really good time. Anyway i'll keep ya updated on the trip.

Sunday night shenanigans!

It started off as a quiet weekend, until it came to Sunday. Sunday morning we had to rise pretty early cos we were meeting some of our friends to go and have lunch at the Kiwi restaurant. From our house its about a 1 and a half hour trek to get to. But it was definitely worth all the hassle as the food was very good. There were 10 of us in total, most of us were kiwi's and the other's had some sort of connection, such as done homestay in NZ. The meal was 5 courses, started with salmon and mussels, then pea soup and bread, quiche and salad, and the main delight of lamb cutlets and a few veges, and all this was followed by a dessert. We spent about 3 hours at the restaurant drinking wine and talking, and I even got my hands on a kiwi beer (Tui).
By the time we got home we were pretty tired. We arrived home about 6.30 and just wanted to kick back with a vid or something, but it was Irish Paul's birthday from down the road, and we said we would go for a beer with him. So anyway we managed to drag ourselves out of the house at about 9pm and met up with Paul, Cathy, John and Roisin at the local 280yen place. A great little place where everything you order is 280yen even big pints of beer. We sat there drinking and chatting for a couple of hours and then Roisin suggested we walk up the road to the local Kareoke, seemed like a good idea at the time even though we all had work first thing. So we walked up the road and went to Kareoke, we ended up staying for 2 hours of all you can drink, and belted out lot's of old tunes, they even gave us tamberine's for a laugh. We left the Kareoke around 1am and set off for home, but we had to pass Paul's house along the way, so we all ended up going in for a drink and playing cherades for a couple more hours. I think it was about 4 by the time I finally crawled into bed. So it turned out to be a pretty eventful day in the end, we didn't feel that flash the next day that's for sure.
